For most estate lawyers, the attorney-client relationship ends when you sign your plan documents and leave the office. For us, signing your legal documents is just the beginning of our relationship with you. We act as your trusted advisors, and we want to be there for you and your family throughout your lives, to offer guidance and counsel as your situation changes and your assets grow.
We know your most valuable assets are the intangibles you create throughout your life. We’ll help you preserve and pass on your knowledge, stories, experiences, and wisdom for your children, and your children’s children. We want you to leave a lasting legacy and help your family build wealth—real wealth—from generation to generation.
We continue to work closely with you even after you sign your plan, to ensure all your assets are appropriately transferred and protected. You’ll also have a full 90 days to make changes to your plan at no additional charge. And we’ll be available to answer any questions you have, again, at no additional charge.
We offer many additional services to ensure your plan is the right one for you and your family: child protection planning, pet trusts, and NFA gun trusts, just to name a few. We conduct family meetings to explain your plan to family members and successor trustees so they understand just how your plan will carry out your wishes in the future. These family meetings are also the beginning of an education about financial responsibility and planning, and they break the ice for talking about what is often an uncomfortable topic for many families: death and incapacity.
We’ve thrown out the billable hour
We understand you’re busy. You’re raising children and caring for elderly parents, while also working hard to build your own nest egg. But if your estate plan doesn’t keep up with your ever-changing life, over time, it will cease to be effective.
That’s why we’ve thrown out the time clocks. Everything we do is billed on a flat-fee basis that is mutually equitable and agreed to in advance, so there are never any surprises. We want you to communicate with us, to let us know when something has changed or needs to be added to your plan. If you have to worry about how much we charge per minute, well, you’re just not going to want to talk to us at all!
We offer a complimentary plan review every three years for all our clients. We’ve also created unique maintenance programs to keep your plan up-to-date year after year, as well as to give you access to our team of legal and industry experts for guidance on any legal or financial matter.
We look forward to meeting you and your family!
Kim
